Lebanese actress Madeline Tabar said that she enjoyed her role in the Egyptian film “Riklam”, in which she played the role of a prostitute. Madeline said that the role was not one she played before, but she had agreed to it wanting to prove to herself that she can master any role given to her.

Madeline noted that her role in the film at first was of a respectable woman, who is happily married, but after her husband’s death she is forced to take a different path in her life that eventually leads her to prostitution. Madeline said she is very happy with the reaction of viewers after seeing the film and hopes it will keep meeting the satisfaction of people. She added that the film tackles a very important topic in today’s society as well as the fact that it features a group of very prominent actresses like Egyptian actress Ghada Abd Al Raziq.

With regards to the rise of Islamists to the political scene in Egypt and around the Arab world, Madeline stated that such a matter does not scare her and she does not think it will affect the entertainment world in any way as speculated by many.
