Laila Elwi and Yusra fight poverty

As  part of their ongoing efforts to give assistance to the United Nations (UN), Prominent Egyptian actresses Laila Elwi and Yusra have joined forces and took part in the campaign launched by the UN against poverty. The campaign was launched at the great pyramids and 500 young volunteers took part in the event, which aims at feeding a billion hungry person.

 

At the event a speech was made to world leaders who will all meet at the UN headquarters to discuss the upcoming millennium goals and aims, and most importantly the goal of how to reduce hunger and poverty. The new campaign is titled “Stop, move, and make some noise”.

 

According to the London based Elaph, Laila stated that in her speech that it is very urgent that world leaders make a stance and help support the fight against hunger and poverty. She added that one of the aims for the year 2015 is to abolish hunger and poverty for half a billion person, and stressed the necessity of making this dream a reality.
