Kathem Al Saher out of sight on New Year’s Eve

Prominent Iraqi singer Kathem Al Saher will not be holding any live performances on New Year’s Eve due to personal reasons he refused to reveal. Kathem, who also holds a Qatari citizenship, will not be taking part in the upcoming Doha Song Festival, despite the fact that he had always been a part of in the past years.

 

The singer’s absence from the scenes is giving rise to many questions as to why he is turning down all offers to hold live performances.

 

It has been decided that January 2011 will mark the release of Kathem’s upcoming album after a series of postponements. The album will feature a variety of songs sung in the Iraqi, Gulf and Lebanese accents in addition to a number of poems sung in the proper Arabic.

 

The singer recently received an award for Best Arab Singer at the Jordan First Music Festival. Kathem had also taken part in the United Arab Emirates National Holiday celebrations.
