A Jordanian court has released a decision ordering Iraqi singer Kathem El Saher to pay 3 thousand US dollars in due fees for his participation in the 2010 Jordan Festival.
A judicial source said that the court sentenced Kathem to pay the 3 thousand US dollars, or the equivalent in Jordanian dinars, to the Jordanian Artists Association, and include the fees and expenses of attorneys' fees and interest accumulated.
The decision came after a lawsuit was filed by the union last January, against Kathem for his lack of commitment to pay the 3% of the wage he received for his participation in the festival, which amounted to 100 thousand dollars.
The Jordanian Artists Association, had vowed that it will file lawsuits against Kathem and Egyptian singer Amal Maher for failing to pay due fees for their participation in the Jordan Festival.
