The spokesperson behind Kuwaiti journalist Halima Poland denied circulating rumors that the show presented by Hailma “Musalsalat Halima” (Halima’s Dramas) that the satellite channel MBC, which airs the show, has been taken off the air. The spokesperson stressed that Halima will resume presenting the show until the end of the holy month of Ramadan, adding that she never received any form of notice from the channel that indicates the show will be stopped.

According to the London based Elaph, the people that work at the MBC studios in Beirut, where the show is filmed, refused to make any comments regarding the rumor.

The rumor began when the Kuwaiti newspaper “Al Watan” had published an article stating the board of directors at MBC decided to stop the airing of the show presented by Halima. It was stated that a strong opposition campaign had erupted in different Gulf countries against Halima and MBC that stated that Halima’s manner and her clothing is too seductive and goes against the holiness of the month of Ramadan. Apparently viewers were angry at Halima for the way she dressed and acted on her show and demanded she be taken off the air.
