Prominent Egyptian actress Ghada Abd Al Riziq expressed her shock at recent allegations by lawyer Nabeeh Al Wahsh stating that she avoided paying customs tax on cloths she brought from London. Al Wahsh stated that Ghada had bought a large sum of cloths from London and was supposed to pay a fee of 16 thousands Egyptian pounds for the customs department, but she had refused to pay the amount and had argued with customs officials at Cairo Airport.
Ghada had made a call to the Minister of Finance and complained about the tax and the amount was lowered to five thousands, a matter that Al Wahsh considered unfair and felt actions should be taken against the actress.
Ghada stated that she does not understand why Al Wahsh is always trying to create problems for her and always files lawsuits against her. She added that there are other actress in the entertainment world, and she is puzzled at Al Wahsh for his focus on her and her movements.
In addition, Ghada stated that all the allegations made by Al Wahsh are untrue and that she did not make any call to the Minister of Finance and she does not know him on a personal basis to request he lower the customs tax on the cloths she brought from London.
The actress added that she in fact thought the customs tax placed on the cloths she brought from London was exaggerated and argued the matter with customs officials and showed them documents stating that the cloths are bought specifically to be used in her television drama “Zohra wa Azwajha Al Khamsah” (Zohra and her five husbands) and will not be used for personal reasons. After reviewing the documents presented by Zohra, customs officials lowered the tax to be paid.
