A large number of young people that took part in the recent mass protests in Egypt to overthrow the government Husni Mubarak, which ended in success, have requested of Egyptian superstar Amro Diab to resign due to his silence throughout the period of the revolution.

An attack has been launched against Amro after rumors had it that he had escaped during the protests with his family out of Egypt. What added to people’s anger is the song by Amro “Wahid Minina” (One of us), which he had sung especially for the former president Mubrak years ago, and the Egyptian local television station kept airing it throughout the period of the protests.

Another group of people have created a page on the internet social network Facebook titled ‘Good by Amro Diab and stay home’. The page included numerous photos of Amro in unwanted situations and statements by members that reprimand him for his stance during the protests.
