Prominent Syrian actor Basem Yakhour denied recent circulating rumors that he has resigned from his acting career after he had refused a leading role to play Omar Bin Al Khatab in the new television drama “Al Farouq”.

Basem said that the news of his quitting his career is ridiculous and if he had refused to accept a role in a drama does not mean that he no longer wants to act. He added that the reason for him not taking part in the drama “Al Farouq” is due to the fact that the timing was not right nor the circumstances.

According to the internet website MBC.net, Basem expressed his disappointment at the creation of such rumors that serve no point and wonders who is behind them and what their motive may be.

Basem revealed that he recently completed filming the scenes of the new television drama “Al Muftah” (The Key), which is written by Khaled Khalifah and directed by Hisham Sharbatji.

The actor is also preparing for his role in the second part of the Syrian drama “Wiladah Min Al Khasirah” (Birth from the waist) that is written by Samer Radwan and directed by Rasha Sharbatji.
