Recent April fool’s jokes began circulating over the internet about Egyptian singer Amr Diab and Lebanese singer Assi Hilani stating that Amr has resigned from his music career and Assi had joined a professional Lebanese soccer team.
Amr immediately denied the rumor and expressed his anger towards the joke that was exaggerated by people. Many believed the joke that said the singer made the decision after the death of his mother that left him in despair and unable to continue his career.
Amr’s managing office had denied the rumor and revealed that the singer already began preparations for upcoming projects. The office added that Amr has no intention of quitting his career.
With regards to the joke about Assi, a fanatic fan had created the rumor as a light joke on the singer’s official website and had wrote that Assi decided to join the Lebanese national soccer team as a way to give them support, but it was clarified that the announcement was only an April fool’s joke.
