Algerian television has decided to boycott all Egyptian drama during the upcoming month of Ramadan. In the past, Egyptian drama occupied a large portion of the Algerian television programs. The decision to boycott is due to the clashes that occurred between Algerian and Egyptian soccer fans at one of their matches in Sudan.
The boycott is not only on television drama, but rather the Algerian boycott is also on Egyptian music, movies, and all entertainment and cultural productions.
Due to the boycott on Egyptian entertainment, Algeria has shifted to interest in Syrian, Gulf, Turkish and Mexican drama and entertainment programs.
