Prominent Syrian actor Duraid Laham stated that he has turned down his nomination to star in the new Syrian drama “Tali’ Al Fidah”. The actor stressed that his turning down the offer has nothing to do with the fact that prominent Syrian actor Yaser Al Athmeh had turned down his nomination to star in the same drama.
According to the internet website MBC.net, Duraid revealed that the reason behind his decision is that the role offered does not suit him, despite the fact that he had welcomed it at first. He added that him playing the role of a Jewish man does not interest him.
Duraid said that at first he was honored by his nomination, which was made by director Seif Al Din Subay’ie and prominent Syrian actor Abbas Al Nouri, but when he read the script he did not feel it would add anything to his career.
The rejection of the nominations from Duraid and Yasser comes from the fact that they were not intrigued by the roles and did not find themselves in the script.
Director of the drama stressed that Duraid and Yasser’s rejection will not affect the drama and filming of the scenes will begin in the upcoming few days.the drama is written by Abbas Al Nouri with the assistance of his wife Anoud Khaled and tackles life in Damascus between 1914 to 1920.
