King Abdullah Economic City hosts senior officials from Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry

A group of senior officials from Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) along with the Marche Region, Chambers of Commerce Union, headed by Mr. Adnan Mandora, JCCI Secretary General, recently visited and toured King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) to discuss and explore the city’s investment opportunities. The delegation was received and welcomed by Mr. Fahd Al Rasheed, Managing Director and CEO of King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC), and senior executives from (KAEC).

A visual and detailed presentation of KAEC developmental stages of construction and progressing taking place from 2007 till present date, as well as a detailed vision of attracting local and foreign investments to the Kingdom was presented to the visiting delegation by Mr. Al-Rasheed.

In addition, a tour of King Abdullah Economic City took place after the presentation, to identify the most important achievements and developments on the ground progress accomplished, including an update on the residential units that have started to be handed over to city residents and workers at the Bay La Sun District, land plots delivered in the Industrial Valley, offices at the Business Park as well as a wide variety of retail space throughout the city. 

According to Al-Rasheed, the Seaport in KAEC located on the Red Sea, has been designed to play an essential role in linking Europe, Africa and Asia through two major international Maritime Navigations. Located in close proximity to Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah, KAEC Seaport will serve more than 250 million consumers across the region.

Mr. Mandora asserted that KAEC is a major contribution to development and national economy and is the realistic embodiment of the vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques that aims to advance the Saudi economy.  “One of the prominent features at KAEC is the availability of Economic Cities Authority and its "60/24/7" system that empowers services to investors round the clock and process completion in record times” said Mr. Mandora.

He commented that, “the strategic location of KAEC and the availability of efficient port and road connectivity to the local and regional markets offer an array of logistical capabilities and enables huge growth potentials.”

“KAEC Industrial Valley has been designed using the best standards in the world for industrial zone master planning and provides all the services necessary for the establishment of manufacturing and logistics facilities.” said Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Suraeh, Head of Industrial Committee of JCCI. 

He pointed out that KAEC Industrial Valley offers fully serviced land plots at various sizes with electricity, water, sewage network, telecommunications services, paved roads and storm water drain system to prevent flooding. This has been a major need not only of international manufacturers but also of locals who want to expand their operations but cannot find the appropriate size of fully serviced land plots.

While the delegation was concluding their visit with lunch at an inspiring sea view restaurant in Bay La Sun village, they highly praised the numerous motivating factors to invest in KAEC, stressing on the facts of KAEC’s huge business potential and ability to attract local and foreign investments to the Kingdom. They proclaimed, “King Abdullah Economic City will be the future city.”
