Khalifa University meets with future leaders at GETEX 2011

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Nahayan Bin Mubarak Al Nahayan, UAE Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research, Khalifa University participated in this year’s Gulf Education & Training Exhibition (GETEX), the largest education exhibition in the Middle East and Asia. The event was held at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from April 14-16 2011.
Khalifa University joined other internationally renowned institutions for the three day event. This year Khalifa University unveiled a host of new programs at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, including the Masters in Nuclear Engineering and the Masters in International and Civil Security among others.
Khalifa University currently offers bachelor degrees in Computer, Communication, Electronic, Software, Mechanical, Aerospace and Biomedical Engineering, Master’s and Doctorate degree programs in Computer, Telecommunication and Electronic Engineering, in addition to the Master’s degrees in Information Security, Nuclear Engineering and International and Civil Security. In the future, Khalifa University will also offer degrees in other disciplines of Engineering, Logistics and Managementand Life Sciences.
As well as presenting the academic programs on offer at Khalifa University, representatives from UAE’s Advanced Network for Research and Education (Ankabut), ETISALAT BT Innovation Centre (EBTIC) and Gulf Nuclear Energy Infrastructure Institute (GNEII) were also present to meet with attendees.
Dr. Mohammed Al-Mualla, Interim Provost at Khalifa University remarked during the opening of the exhibition: “GETEX is an excellent medium for Khalifa University to meet with potential students as well as education stake holders. Over the course of the exhibition we introduced visitors to our new programs as well as showcased our research initiatives.”
He added, “Khalifa University, through its strong academic offering, and multi-disciplinary approach offers a cultivating environment for students, which will enable them to develop successful careers. Through an education with Khalifa University, our graduates will be able to use their knowledge and skills acquired, to directly and positively impact the economic development of the UAE and its knowledge economy.”
