As part of INJAZ’ efforts to encourage entrepreneurship and increase work readiness among Jordanian youth, INJAZ conducted the sixth annual “INJAZ Student Company Course Competition” on the 27th of July. The panel of judges includes Mr.Haethum Buttikhi (Jordan Kuwait Bank), Mr. Faraj Bassil (aramex), Ms. Abeer Qumsieh (Better Business), Ms. Lama Jabasini (Jumpstart) and Ms. Tala Al-Mauge (Zaru Law Firm) to choose the Best Student Company 2011 and Best Student CEO 2011.

INJAZ’ company course provides students with hands-on entrepreneurial and business training, through starting an actual company. Under the supervision of the volunteer, students organize and register their own “student company”, allowing them to analyze and explore their personal opportunities and responsibilities. Students conduct market research, investment appraisal studies, and define the market needs. This enables them to explore and enrich their managerial skills and economic knowledge. At the end of the project timeframe, students liquidate the company, present a report, and divide the profits among the shareholders.

This year, 4 teams from 4 schools are competing to win the national company competition after which they qualify to compete at the regional level. The student companies are sponsored by Zain-JORDAN and Toyota-JORDAN: “Creative Touch” (Lamset Ibda’) Company from Um Habiba School for Girls supervised by INJAZ’ volunteer Mr. Khaleel Abu Shwareb, “Husban Fountains” from Husban School for Boys supervised by volunteer Mr. Khaled Nayfih, “Express your Self” ‘Abber ‘an Nafsak Company from Jwaideh School for Girls supervised by volunteer Ms. Lina Hundaileh and “Red Fabric” AlNaseej Al Ahmar Company from Thuhaiba School for Boys supervised by volunteer Mr. Ali Dahmash.

Ms. Deema Bibi, INJAZ’ CEO, awarded " Express Your Self student company" the Best Student Company 2011 award and "Ayat Amro" the Best Student CEO 2011 award. Ms. Bibi said: "It's very rewarding to see the impact the company course have had on the students and their great achievements during a short period of time, and to hear from them about their experience and how it improved their professional skills like management, planning, communication, presentation, problem solving and team work skills as well as their personal skills most importantly building self confidence in their potential and abilities to innovate and think creatively".
