Halwani's 'Memory Tree' is a Tribute to Those Who Died in the Beirut Famine

The Memory Tree, commissioned by the Université Saint-Joseph de Beyrouth and writer Ramzi Toufic Salame, commemorates the estimated 200,000 people who died in the famine between 1915 and 1918. It is the first memorial to ever be erected to the disaster.
