Lebanese songstress, Julia Butros, will hold two benefit concerts in support of the Jordanian Association for the Medical Aid of Palestine, reported Al Bayan newspaper.
The UAE publication said that Butros announced her strong stand intended to send a patriotic message through her music until occupied Palestine is free, Jerusalem is its capital and the Syrian Golan Heights are liberated.
The songstress will begin her concert in Jordan with a new song, Ya Hijar (Rocks), written by Nabil Abu Abdo and composed by Ziyad Butros.
Following is an excerpt from the song:
Bil heera ou bil khowf kuntum aisheen
Ou ala durub el hurriah ilyoum mashyeen
Ya hijar surti el hilm hiddi bawab el thalam
Ya Quds alaina tal ghiyabek el jareeh
Rah tibqi fil bal, mahma jan el reeh
With confusion and fear you were living
And on the road of freedom you walk today
Oh rocks you have begun dreaming, break the doors of the dark
Oh Jerusalem, your absence has been hurtful and long
You will stay on our minds, however mad the winds blow…
Meanwhile, Julia will also be performing other famous songs, including Wayn El Malayeen (Where Are The Millions), which has been a regular recently on most Arab satellite stations.
Also included in this concert’s itinerary are Ya Thuwar El Ard (Revolutionaries of the World) and Rub’bama (Maybe), written by famous Palestinian poet, Samih Qassem.
It is important to note that the move is a natural for Julia, who has, throughout her career, made it a point to focus on various humanitarian issues. – Albawaba.com.
