Lebanese singer Assi Hilani has joined a number of international stars in a new awareness campaign to fight poverty and hunger around the world, in collaboration with the United Nations World Food Program (UNWFP).
Assi has offered to film a commercial free of charge for the UNWFP that will feature graphic images of poverty and hunger from around the world to generate public awareness.
The ‘Egyptian Studio Company’ has offered to produce the commercial.
According to the London based daily, Al Quds Al Arabi, Assi stated, “We cannot stop time, but we can stop hunger, and it is an honor to give my voice to those who are suffering.”
Assi is currently holding negotiations with ‘Melody Production Company’ for his upcoming album, including five music videos.
The singer’s contract with Rotana ended with the release of his latest album, “Izgheereh El Dinia” (It is a Small World), that has enjoyed tremendous success.
The video for “Habibi Ya Nasini” aired exclusively on Rotana’s satellite music channel.
Assi has denied circulating rumors that a major dispute broke out between him and Saeed Al Marouq, director of his music videos, and affirmed that he is not seeking a new director.
