Mobilecom renews cooperation agreement with the Jordanian Basketball Federation

Mobilecom has renewed its cooperation agreement with the Jordanian Basketball Federation (JBF) for another year. The agreement entails that MobileCom as a platinum sponsor will be associated with the Madares High School League, University League as well as the currently going of the Professional’s Basketball League.

 

Representatives of both sides including MobileCom CEO, Mickael Ghossein and the President of the Jordanian Basketball League, Mr. Tareq Al-Zu’bi attended the press conference.
 
Briefing the press, Ghossein said that signing the agreement today underlines MobileCom’s genuine commitment to supporting Jordanian Basketball and advancing it to the next level. He went on to say that MobileCom has taken upon itself through this agreement to backer up all the age categories of this sport, covering a wide range of leagues from school teams all the way to university teams and the professional league.
 
Ghossein added that the agreement, which will remain effective until March 2005, is in essence a continuation to the agreement signed with the JBF  last year, but covers a wider range of MobileCom sponsored activities.

 

For his part, Zu’bi expressed his satisfaction with the renewal of the agreement, underscoring the importance of the private sector’s participation in supporting local sports and ultimately paving the way for great achievements.

It is worth mentioning that, MobileCom sponsors the Professional’s League games, which include the Golden Square matches. Moreover and under this agreement, it will sponsor the University League, which due to kick off this April. The league consists of private and public universities from Amman, Zerqa, Iirbid, Jerash, and Karak, and it will have 12 teams in its first year with plans to include all universities by its second year.

 

MobileCom will also continue to sponsor the High School League throughout the next season, which officially takes off in October. The number of schools represented in this league is expected to rise from 32 male and female teams this year to reach 64 teams by next season.

 

Ghossein concluded the conference by expressing his wish to continue the fruitful collaboration and unique partnership with JBF in order to rise with the level of the game to a whole new platform.
