The Lufthansa passenger load factor registered an increase of 50% with revenues up 100 per cent in 2003, Sales Promotion Manager, Bahrain and Qatar, Syed Kamal Rashid said.

The airline official, who is bidding farewell to Bahrain after four and half years, said the carrier has had tremendous support from the general sales agent (GSA) Kanoo Travel, Bahrain.

"When I came to the Bahrain head office it was really challenging for me to maintain Lufthansa’s business turnover but with the massive support from our GSA and Civil Aviation Affairs this task became much easier. I’ve received great support from CAA and other public-sector organizations", the Bahrain Tribune cited him as saying.

He added business in Qatar registered a 300% increase during his four-year stay in Bahrain. "Bahrain, being an online station for Lufthansa for almost 11 years, has emerged as a much-developed market, and now Qatar’s business has also registered healthy growth signs.

"Lufthansa is still a number-one airline for passengers traveling to Germany, elsewhere in Europe and America, and we’re working hard to provide maximum facilities to our worthy clients. Lufthansa introduced innovative products as part of business strategy to cater for the needs of its passengers in Bahrain and other Gulf countries," he added. (menareport.com)
