Two lock gates have arrived for installation at the south end of Al Marsa Floating City between the Meena7 towers and Marina Club in Amwaj Islands, according to Bahrain Tribune. The six-metre long gates, designed by international consultant Halcrow Group Ltd, will be placed into a 40-metre long, five-metre deep lock basin accommodating boats up to 60 feet long, according to the Ossis Property Developers BSC (C).
Project manager Mohammed Nouri said, “The gates will provide our Al Marsa residents with the comfort to take their boats from their backyards and set out to sea at ease. The locks will be continually manned, and, their unique design will ensure that the canal water level remains constant and unaffected by outside sea tidal movements."
