Etihad Airways has appointed Mohamed El Noman as the airline’s new Country Manager for Sudan.

Mr El Noman has 14 years of commercial aviation experience in the region. Prior to joining Etihad, he worked at Emirates Airline where he held the position of Sales Manager. He was also the Sales Promotion Manager for the Gulf Air GSA in Sudan.

Peter Baumgartner, Etihad Airways’ Chief Commercial Officer, said: “The Sudanese market is of key importance to Etihad as traffic trade between the countries and beyond grows. Mohamed brings a strong commercial background to Etihad and I am confident that his significant experience with airlines in both the Middle East and Africa will contribute to Etihad’s further success in Sudan. “

Etihad launched services from Abu Dhabi to Khartoum in July 2006, initially operating three flights per week. Following increased demand on the route, Etihad expanded its services to four flights per week, from April 2007.
