EPIC Green Solutions, a UAE-based international water management solutions company specialising in highly efficient sub-surface irrigation and drainage systems, will be participating in the Cityscape Jeddah exhibition taking place from the 11-13 June 2011 at the Jeddah Center for Forums and Events in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

EPIC Green Solutions holds the world-wide rights to the US-patentedtechnology, known as the EPIC (Environmental Passive Integrated Chamber) system. The innovative technology is revolutionising conventional approaches to irrigation in the Middle East by providing cost effective, sustainable and profitable solutions to conserve and better manage scarce water resources in the region.

Charlie Fleifel, Chairman &CEO of EPIC Green Solutions, commented, “Introducing the water saving capabilities of the EPIC technology in Saudi Arabia is another step in providing sustainable solutions to help tackle the Kingdom’s water scarcity problems”.

According to the Saudi Arabia Water Report for Q2 2011, the Kingdom is the third largest consumer of water per capita in the world, due to its large population and agricultural activities, but has limited groundwater to tap. This, together with the limited drainage infrastructure to effectively make use of the country’s rainfall, has posed both a health hazard to Saudi residents and has put a strain on government spending.

Fleifel continued, “The EPIC system acts simultaneously as a drainage and irrigation system, allowing it to efficiently manage Saudi Arabia’s water supply by reducing usage and redirecting excess rainfall”.

At Cityscape Jeddah, the company will showcase the capabilities of the EPIC system when utilised in landscaping, green roofs and green parking, transforming green areas intohighly efficient water management systems.

In landscaping, the technology not only achieves water savings of 50 – 85% more than traditionalirrigation systems, but also employs a non-clogging chamber that allows for the use of fresh, brackish, grey and treated water. Utilising common laws of gravity and capillary rise, the sub-surface irrigation system requires very little post-installation maintenance.

Bart Rehbein, Managing Director of EPIC Green Solutions, commented, “We have had our sights set on entering Saudi Arabia for a while, as the Kingdom is on the brink of transformation, with plans for ambitious real estate growth in the near future.”

“Cityscape Jeddah is the perfect platform for bringing forth the solutions that have proved invaluable across the globe, and towards forging key partnerships with local partners which pave the way for innovative water management solutions in the region,” continued Rehbein.

En route to forming strategic partnerships with industry leaders across the globe, EPIC Green Solutions recently signed an agreement with Firestone Building Products Company LLC, a global leader in quality commercial roofing and a subsidiary of Firestone in North America, to become the exclusive distributor for the EPIC product line on the continent.

“Our strategic partnership with the reputable and established Firestone reflects our express desire that EPIC Green Solutions is aligned with only the best, as we transform the global institution of water usage. The partnership in the United States, and the new associationsthat we hope to build, are laying the groundwork for our ascension to a truly international environmental company,” concluded Fleifel.
