Egyptian director Yousef Shahin announced Monday in Abu Dhabi a film project on the life history of the UAE president Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, according to the UAE daily al Bayan.
“The film tells the story of a leader loved by his people and respected by everybody. With the wise leadership, the UAE managed to achieve unity, which was one of the most successful union experiences in the modern history of the Arab world. The seven emirates which were separate and poor united in one state that enjoys flourishing and stability,” Shahin told a press conference at Beach Hotel in Abu Dhabi Monday.
He added, “the film will tackle a great figure with a serious future vision as Sheikh Zayed has managed through his wisdom and experience to allocate the economic resources for the benefit of his people and to establish a state of welfare which posses at the same time a diverse economy.”
Responding to a question on the resources which the film production will depend upon, Shahin said, “I shall depend on the persons who were close and contemporaries with the state president; the first people who were influenced by him and who love him in addition to personal interviews with those persons who lived the period to be tackled by the film. Also I shall depend on some books and films on his life history and I am still in the process of searching for information and gearing up for the film.
The conference was attended by the general manager of al Masah for Art Production, Hisham Abdel Khaleq and the president of Media Vision, Naser Butti bin Omair bin Yousef. These two companies will produce the film which will be financed and supported by member of he Executive Council and director of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s office, Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan -- Albawaba.com
