Prominent Syrian comedian actor has expressed his disappointment and outrage at recent circulating rumors that he had passed away after being in a tragic road accident while driving on one of the main highways to the Syrian city of Al Lathiqieh.
According to the internet website MBC.net, Yasser stressed that he is alive and healthy and was not in any car accident. He added that he did not expect that upon his return to Damascus from a recent trip he would be faced with such ridiculous rumors as his death. Yasser said he was on a trip abroad and returned to Syria this past Friday.
Yasser said he was amazed at how fast the rumor of his death would spread in such short a time. The actor stated that he had received numerous phone calls by people wanting to make sure the rumors were not true. He added that he does not know what the goal from spreading such lies and what motive people who created it had.
On a different note, Yasser stressed that he does not wish to comment on the current chaotic political situation in Syria and it is not his place as an artist to do so. He added that he is not a politician and does not specialize in the field of politics therefore he prefers to keep silent.
