Salma Hayek has insisted that she's happier than ever with her post-pregnancy shape.

The actress - famed for such films as Wild Wild West and Frida - welcomed her only daughter Valentina back in 2007.

After almost nine years, the leading lady has now revealed that life is still 'better' despite her changing body shape.

The movie star made her point when she shared a throwback snap with her 787,000 followers on Instagram on Thursday.

It featured Salma wearing a white bikini and showing off her toned body on a beach.

In the caption she acknowledged her waist looked different but proudly said it didn't matter to her.

She wrote: "This was my waist before pregnancy. Now it's not the same but my life is so much better."

This was my waist before pregnancy. Now it's not the same but my life is so much better. Esta era mi cintura antes de embarazarme pero ahora mi vida es mucho mejor.

The post quickly received an outpouring of support after fans laid their eyes upon it.

One person wrote: "You're still a beautiful woman salma inside and out im soooo proud of you and ive always looked up to you ur an amazing person!"

Another added: "You are a goddess. Before and after baby. @salmahayek."

Salma's incredible body made headlines when she attended the Evening Standard Theatre Awards in November.

The mum-of-one had slipped into a white plunging dress and flaunted heaps of cleavage on the red carpet.

The 49-year-old looked much younger than her years after revealing that she would never turn to Botox.

She told Allure: "When I was young, they tried to sell me on the idea: 'If you do it now, then you won't get the wrinkles.' And thank God I didn't do that."
