The business manager of young Lebanese singer Maria has denied that she was forced off stage in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Egypt, after a request by head of the Egyptian Musician Association Saeed Al Jablawi was given to stop her. It was rumored that, known as the Corn Flakes singer, was put in a very humiliating situation as she was forced to stop her concert in Dream Park Cairo and was taken off stage in front of her audience. Head of the Egyptian Musician Association ordered her removal off stage due to the fact that she was holding a concert without obtaining a permit.
Rumors added that the situation had gotten worse when the singer was taken to the police station and had charges pressed against her for repeatedly taking part in different entertainment activities and singing in nightclubs around Egypt illegally, reported the London based weekly, Sayidaty.
Maria has denied recent circulating rumors in one of the magazines that she is purposely promoting smoking in her latest music video “Ibtikdib Alai” (You Lie to Me). It was stated that the fact that Maria appears holding a cigarette in her hand in the clip is the biggest proof that she is encouraging the idea of smoking.
