With news reports emerging this week that Syrian actor Wael Sharaf had fled to Turkey, fans began to worry for his safety. The star of 'Bab al Hara' (The Neighborhood's door) was then said to be killed by an air raid on his way out of the country.
At this stage the actor made a public statement to reassure panicked fans: he was alive and well and still in Syria. The Syrian Actors Union confirmed that he was safe and still in the country. Wael took the time to reply to Facebook messages from fans to thank them for their concern but said he hoped this "ridiculous" rumor could be laid to rest.
