Prominent Lebanese singer Wael Kfouri just finished recording his latest album entitled “Arrab Li” (Come Close to Me), and is scheduled for release this month. The new album includes ten songs which are Arrab Li, Albi Mishta', Khodni Leek, Ir7am 3azabi, Malek el Gharam, Jan el Hawa, 7abibi Ta3a, Laila Walla Laila, Lamma Nkoun Sawa, and Ma Sadda't Aghani.
Wael is expected to shoot one of the clips for the new album in Hungary and will be cooperating for the first time with director Saeed Al Marooq.
Rotana satellite TV channel invited Wael to talk about his new album on the program “Ma3 7obi” (With my Love) where he met his fans who gave him a book entitled “Wael Kfouri, 12 years of success”. The book talks about Wael's career since he started singing twelve years ago and his ongoing success since that time.
Kfoury is also currently taking extensive lessons in the English language in order to prepare himself for his upcoming role in the Hollywood film “Ali Baba”. Lebanese film producer Elie Samaha, who is the Chairman/CEO of Franchise Pictures, nominated Wael to take part in the film, leading him towards international stardom. Wael signed a contract to star in the new film "Ali Baba" alongside internationally-known actor Antonio Bandares. The film falls under the action genre and is scheduled to be filmed in the United States of America, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
According to the London based, Elaph, Wael also had to loose 12 Kilos for his character in the film and to appear fit. Kfoury's office asserted that the singer had received several offers to star in different films, but he was only convinced with this one and so decided to accept the role. Kfoury had previously revealed that rumors regarding the possibility of him taking part in the film alongside Antonio are true. Wael stressed that he did not wish to give out any details regarding the film, wanting to wait until an agreement is final between both sides.
Kfoury has announced the renewal of his contract with the Music Production Company Rotana for an additional three years. The singer signed the agreement at Rotana’s Lebanon regional office, and expressed his joy saying that he is very hopeful of the prospects of the contract. –Albawaba.com
