'The Vampire Diaries' Pro-Palestine actor refuses Starbucks Coffee

ALBAWABA - British-American actor Michael Malarkey who is best known for playing Enzo from the popular series, 'The Vampire Diaries' went viral on social media after refusing a cup of Starbucks coffee due to the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023. 

After refusing to take it, Malarkey who was on stage at the time, told the audience to boycott the coffee chain because of its ties to Israel. He further urged the people attending to also boycott Starbucks for Palestine. 

He said don't serve Starbucks again please, Thank you" and added, "I do not drink Starbucks coffee, I boycott Starbucks and you all should too."

Looking at his Instagram, Michael Malarkey has showcased his support for Palestine through a series of posts. One post urged his followers to buy a pro-Palestine T-shirt as part of a fundraiser for the people of Gaza and the latter had, Malarkey wearing a Palestinian flag T-shirt with the caption, "luv ya fam x". 

The Vampire Diaries also shared a post during the #artists4ceasefire movement, which had multiple celebrities demanding officials for a ceasefire in Gaza. 

According to Malarky himself, he grew up in an Arab household where he ate many tasty dishes including Hummus, Kibbeh, and Tabbouleh. In an interview, The Vampire Diaries actor said, "My grandfather was born in Palestine. I...all of a sudden felt this real connection, to the people of Palestine and my blood".
