A highly-awaited concert by popular Pakistani singer Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was postponed Friday night after he was injured in a car accident hours before his Bahrain debut, reports MOHAMMED AL A'ALI.

More than 3,000 people had purchased tickets for the show at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre, but were turned away yesterday.

Organisers told the GDN that Mr Khan's managers called six hours before the concert to inform them of the accident, which happened on the way to airport in Lahore, Pakistan.

"We apologise to everyone for this unfortunate circumstance that has seen us postpone the concert, especially to those who travelled from all around the Gulf," said Epic Concepts general manager Savio Samanna. "But for those seeking a refund, a counter has been set up at the centre from today until Monday, from noon to 3pm." Mr Khan is reported to be out of danger..
