Even though he seemed very relaxed and calm at his press conference prominent UAE singer Hussein Al Jasmi was worried before he got up stage and started singing on the prestigious Carthage stage. Journalists were not allowed to enter behind the scenes to see the singer up close.
According to the London daily Elaph, once Al Jasmi stood on stage and began singing all his worries vanished and he appeared relaxed and happy. There were more than 12 thousand fans present to see Al Jasmi singing. Prince Walid Bin Talal, owner of the production company ‘Rotana’, was watching the concert on television on Rotana music channel.
Al Jasmi, who had cancelled his concert at Carthage last year because of the war on Lebanon, made his fans more excited to have him sing for them this year. Al Jasmi was very moved when he saw how the fans were interacting with him while he was singing and had actually shed a few happy tears.
Before Al Jismi got up on stage Moroccan singer Asma Al Manwar had performed. Asma pleased her fans by singing songs in the Moroccan, Khaliji (Gulf) and Lebanese dialects. The fans started singing with her when she sang for the famous Lebanese legend Fairouz “Adeesh Kan Fe Nas” (How Many People Were There).
Asma is considered to be one of the lucky singers who was given the opportunity to rise and shine in the music world of course with the help of the Production Company Rotana. She had to apologize for the fans because she took some of Al Jasmi’s time; however, the fans wanted her to sing for a longer time.
Al Jasmi got up on stage wearing his Khaliji traditional dress and started singing; however, he did not sing as much as his fans sang. The fans asked him to sing his song “Faqadak” (I Lost You). As soon as he started singing Al Jismi started crying and his fans were crying with him too.
It is becoming very normal for a singer to cry in front of his fans. Al Jasmi was trying to let his fans know that all the wealth and fame does not matter when loosing a close one. Yet his fans started sending young kids to give Al Jasmi hugs in order to erase his tears away.
Al Jasmi sang for two hours, and he ended his concert by singing his song “Bahibik Wahshtini” (I Love You and Miss You), which he dedicated to his future wife, which he hasn’t met yet.
