The United Nations plans to host a screening of the Egyptian film "Sadat Days," which examines the life of the assassinated Egyptian president. Ahmad Zeki has the lead, Mirvat Amin is taking part as the president’s wife, and the film is directed by Mohamad Khan, according to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).

The New York-based Egyptian-American Friendship Society has organized the showing, and has invited Zeki to attend the opening ceremony.

The opening festivities will be attended by a number of Arab and foreign diplomats, said the head of the Egyptian television production sector, Ahmad Bahjet. The film producer said the hall where the film would be shown was specially designed for receptions for world leaders and senior officials, and that it was the first time it would host a film.

The film was made at many of the actual sites of Sadat’s life, like his family’s house and village. It will show some of Sadat's key moments, such as his decision to travel to Israel in 1977, the Egyptian-Israeli treaty, and his assassination.

Zeki, who has the ability to impersonate leaders and celebrities, played deceased president Jamal Abdel Nasser in "Nasser 56," and is preparing to step into the role of deceased Egyptian singer Abdel Halim Havez – Albawaba.com
