Give way to little engineers
Bring your little ones for a weekend of learning fun at Children’s City in Creek Park. The science-focused playground has organised an Engineers Festival for children ages two and older to learn about the field through engaging and interactive projects. Here, young explorers can experience engineering through virtual reality, design a sandcastle using a spirograph and more. Catch a timeless tale at Dubai Opera
This weekend is your only chance to watch William Shakespeare’s Othello on stage at Dubai Opera. An enduringly pertinent play, this tragedy tells the story about Othello, a Muslim general, whose life unravels in a society riddled with fear and prejudice. After a critically acclaimed tour and run in London, Richard Twyman’s production arrives in town with the award-winning English Touring Theatre. Tickets are available online with a recommended age guidance of 12 years and older.

See Bollywood’s songbird live in concert
India’s superstar playback singer Sunidhi Chauhan is making her Bollywood Parks debut this Friday. The artist began singing at the age of 12 and has since established herself an undeniable force in the industry. “Chor Bazaari”, “Sheela Ki Jawani”, “Dilliwaali Girlfriend” and more – Sunidhi Chauhan is the voice behind some of Bollywood’s catchiest tracks of all time. Watch a movie that moves you
Bassam Jarbawi’s Screwdriver explores what 15 years in an Israeli prison can do to a man. Describing the physical and emotional trauma it causes, and the consequences of lost time, this critically-acclaimed film will take viewers through a world of emotions. Catch the last screening this weekend at Cinema Akil, Dubai’s first permanent independent film theatre in Alserkal Avenue.

Learn, enjoy and support the science
Bring the entire family to see and celebrate the incredible ingenuity of students in the UAE. Hosted by the UAE’s Ministry of Education, the National Science, Technology and Innovation Festival (NSTI) sees students prepare and showcase in-depth research projects on various subjects. The event features a conference and science fair, which require registration, along with a line-up of exciting entertainment, activities, sports and even celebrity appearances by Zach Zing, James Veitch, Chef Bader and more.

Comedy, dance and classical rock
Swiss Art Gate UAE has put together two evenings of entertainment displaying the diverse talent of Swiss artists. On night one, see comedian Charles Nguela bring the house down in raucous laughter as he shares his unfiltered opinions and sharp observations. Following Charles is The Blackout, a performance art group that brings their choreography alive with LED lights. On the next night, music duo Mozart Heroes will set the stage on fire with their repertoire of classical melodies blended with rock and roll.

Make this weekend fitness-focused and get your heart rate up at a cross-country run at Mushrif Park. Whether you’re an amature or a regular runner, this event is accessible to all as participants can select between 1.5k, 3k, 5k, 10k and 15k distances and run through the vibrant, tree-lined paths of this charming spot.
