The disputes between Lebanese singer Elissa and Lebanese journalist and TV host Tony Khalifeh are going beyond the tabloids and spilling into the legal courts—Tony is suing Elissa. How did it come to this point?
Tony initially mocked Elissa on his show “Lilnasher” (For Publishing). He then criticized her performance as a judge on the new talent show “The X-Factor” that is aired on the Lebanese satellite channel MTV.
Soon, Tony was subject to a harsh attack from Elissa’s fans after his negative comments about her performance on “The X-Factor”. The singer’s fans cursed him and drug his name through the mud.
In response, Tony has decided to sue Elissa for encouraging her fans to make inappropriate remarks about him on different social networks.
Elissa’s business manager Emile Baghi refused to make any remarks regarding Tony’s allegations that the Lebanese singer encourages her fans to curse anyone who makes attacks against her. Baghi simply told the press ‘No comment’.
