Well, TC Candler’s finally done nominating its 100 Most Beautiful Faces, and its 100 Most Handsome Faces, for 2017.
The annual list seeks to reward people for having good genes and the ability to take care of their own faces. It avoids being completely horrible by giving both men and women equal time in the spotlight, though it’s subject to some fairly obvious bias (you’re going to have a hard time spotting many people on the darker side of mulatto).
Still! Arabs. On the list. Seven of them, to be specific, which 3.5% of the list. We celebrated Yasmine Sabri’s inclusion a couple of days ago (she celebrated being the only Egyptian woman on the list, which seems a bit shortsighted), but who was on the complete list there?
- 1. Dhafer L’Abidine, from Tunisia, a former football turned actor
- 2. Haya Abdul Salam, a Kuwaiti actress
- 3. Laith Abu Joda , a Jordanian-Palestinian singer
- 4. Rawan Bin Hussain, a Jordanian-Kuwaiti law student and student pilot
- 5. Sherif Fayed, a former Egyptian football player and TV host
- 6. Jessica Kahawaty, a Lebanese lawyer and beauty queen
- 7. And Yasmine Sabri, the Egyptian actress
We’re happy for y’all. Here’s a good reason to not skip the gym today.
