'Teta Rahiba' reigns supreme: film rakes in LE5 million this Eid

Egyptian star Mohamed Heneidy tops this season's holiday film chart with "Teta Rahiba" (My Horrible Grandma), taking LE4,415,680 in revenue in three days following its release during Eid Al-Fitr (the Islamic holiday that follows Ramadan).

'Teta Rahiba' stars Mohamed Heneidy, Amy Sameer Ghanem, and Samiha Ayoub, is written by Youssef Moaty, and is directed by Sameh Abdel Aziz.

In second place came yet another comedy with Egyptian actor Ahmed El-Sakka, "Baba" (Dad). Co-starring Dora, "Baba" reached LE3,638,790 in revenue. The film is written by Zainab Aziz and directed by Aly Idris.

Egyptian singer Hamada Helal's film "Mr. and Mrs Ewais" came third with LE1,550,900 pounds in revenue. The film is a romantic-comedy written by Karim Fahmy and directed by Akram Farid.

The drama film "Bar" took LE374,900 inrevenue. The film is written by Mustafa Salim and is directed by Abbas El-Gabaly, and stars a group of young faces.
