Taylor Swift has won her lawsuit.
The star had taken former DJ David Mueller to court, indicted him with sexual abuse. The incident, claimed Swift, had occurred at a 2013 concert, during which Mueller had reached for a grope beneath her skirt during a photo-shoot.
Mueller’s lawsuit against the star, which sought compensation for damages after her lawsuit against him had cost him his job, was dismissed by the judge last week.
Following the trial, Taylor Swift said: "I acknowledge the privilege that I benefit from in life, in society and in my ability to shoulder the enormous cost of defending myself in a trial like this. My hope is to help those whose voices should also be heard. Therefore, I will be making donations in the near future to multiple organizations that help sexual assault victims defend themselves."
Swift received the complete amount in damages that the lawsuit had sought: $1.00, a number chosen for its symbolic significance.
