ALBAWABA - Taylor Swift broke President Trump's record for the most podcast listens in the hour after an episode came out.
Swift was on the show "New Heights" on Wednesday. It was hosted by her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce. It was live at 7 p.m., and the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs and former Eagles player talked to Swift for more than two hours.
The Daily Beast and Swift's representatives both said that 1.3 million people watched the show live on YouTube in the first hour after it came out.
This is important because Trump used to have the most listens during the first hour of a podcast. A CNN expert named Harry Enten said that 800,000 people watched the first hour of his appearance on an episode of "The Joe Rogan Experience" in October 2024.
So many people watched Swift's "New Heights" episode at once that YouTube crashed around the 1 hour and 44 minute mark.
"For this video to have 1.3 million views is the height of numerology," Jason wrote on X just before the video dropped.
In this episode that broke all kinds of records, Swift showed off the cover and track list for her new album, "The Life of a Showgirl." She also talked about getting back control of her masters and her relationship with Travis.
Three months ago, Trump said on Truth Social that Swift was losing fame because of him. Now, Swift has more podcast views than Trump in the first hour.
“Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT’?” he posted in May.
In September 2024, after Swift backed Kamala Harris for president, Trump made it clear on social media that he didn't like Swift. Since then, he has continued to make jokes about the pop star without planning to. For example, he talked about her in a speech in April when the Eagles went to the White House to celebrate winning Super Bowl LIX.
Swift has never said anything in public about what Trump said about her.
