Egyptian singer Tamer Husni has strongly denied recent circulating rumors in the press and over the internet that he had secretly married Moroccan singer Basmah Boseel, star of the sixth season of the talent show Star Academy.
Tamer’s statement came as his reply to a recent article posted in the Egyptian newspaper “Sawt Al Ummah” that published Tamer had secretly married Basmah and are now living in Tamer’s villa in Cairo. The article added that Tamer and Basmah are keeping the marriage a hush hush and avoiding making any public comments about it.
The article also stated that the couple had been living a heated love affair for some time and sparks between them began when Tamer held a concert last year in Morocco at the Mawazeen Music Festival.
According to the internet website MBC.net, Tamer wrote on his official page on the social network Facebook that he had received a phone call from Ahmad Issam Ismael Fahmi, son of the CEO of the newspaper Sawt Al Umah, apologizing to him for the article that was published. Ahmad promised Tamer that he will take drastic measures against the person who wrote the article and will publish an official apology stating that all that has been said is not true.
This is the second time that Tamer publicly states that the rumor of his marriage to Basimah is not true, stressing that when he decides to get married he will announce the news to the whole world.
