In the wake of the announcement of her marriage to Egyptian megastar Tamer Hosny, Moroccan ex-Star Academy contestant Basma Boussil has - in a dramatic move - as sudden as maiden became madam - permanently quit her singing career. The starlet had only just broken into this doomed career.
Tamer, turning out to be quite the demanding groom, had insisted that Basma abandon her dream and dedicate herself completely to him and her new family. Prior to this whirlwind matrimony, Basma was on the cusp of signing a new album. Tamer scuppered her plans, nipping her musical career in the opening credits.
The news of the marriage had earlier stunned fans who were left divided into camps for and against the union.
But this hasn't stopped the newly wed love-birds who are in fully-fledged honey-moon mode, preparing for their first married jaunt - a joint religious pilgrimage Hajj. Tamer said that he wants his marriage to start off as he prays for it to go on - blessed by God.
