Syrian writer Hani Al-Saadi dies aged 81

ALBAWABA—Syrian writer and actor Hani Al-Saadi, father of Syrian actresses Ruba and Rawaa Al-Saadi, died at the age of 81.

Hani Al-Saadi passed away after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease, Syrian media reported on Friday, Feb. 14.

It is worth noting that Rawaa Al-Saadi is in Lebanon to complete filming the series “Al-Sabaa”, in which she participates with a group of Syrian stars, including Basem Yakhour, Abdel Moneim Amyri, Amal Arafa, and many others.

About Hani Al-Saadi:

Hani Al-Saadi was born on June 6, 1944, in Saffuriya, Nazareth District. He is a Syrian writer and actor of Palestinian origin. He appeared in many Syrian television, cinema and theatrical works. He also wrote scenarios for several works, the most famous of which is the series “A Neighborhood Forgotten by Time”, in addition to historical fantasy series.

Hani Al-Saadi entered the world of acting through the movie “Al-Ghazlan” which was shown in 1969, along with Samira Tawfiq, Naji Jabr, and Yassin Bakoush.
