In a tragic turn of events, an Egyptian woman killed her three young children à la Egypt's most infamous serial killers, Raya and Sakina, Laha Magazine reports.

The unstable woman was sadly influenced by scenes from the upcoming dark Syrian Ramadan drama "Warda Shamya."

In the drama, Syrian actresses Shukran Murtaja and Sulafa Mimar play Raya and Sakina; the mother mimicked the way they killed characters in the series to kill her own children.

In cold blood, she used a wet towel to suffocate her five-year-old son and three-year-old twin daughters.

But there's more to the horrific story than meets the eye.

In an interview with the police, the disturbed woman, 29, confessed that unbeknown to her husband, she was having an affair with a man she had met on the instant messaging app Viber.

She begged her husband for a divorce, but their kids was his excuse for them to stay together.

The unthinkable happened when she decided that this is the only way she could elope with her lover.

This begs the question: How can filmmakers, novelists and TV show creators present dark material in their work without risking someone imitating it?
