If you had doubts about the religious beliefs of Syrian actress Sulaf Fawakhirji, then be prepared for more confusion. The star has accepted a leading role in the new film “Islam Hinna”. This particular leading lady requires quite a transformation on the part of the actress who will have to make her own (fictional) religious conversion.
In the movie, she takes on the persona of a Christian woman, ‘Wafa’. Sulaf was very intrigued with the character of Wafa and explained that it’s a very inspiring and motivating role that any actress would love to play.
The film stars Syrian actor Abed Fahed, who plays the part of a priest named Hinna, alongside other mentionable actors Khalil Mursi, Lili and Majdi Abd Al Wahab. The movie was a personal triumph for director-writer Safi El Din Hassan in his first shots at screen writing and film direction.
Otherwise, Sulaf Fawakhirji has completed filming most of her scenes in the upcoming television drama “Al Masabeeh Al Zurq” (The Blue Lanterns) which is scheduled to be aired during the imminent Ramadan season. The drama is directed by Fahd Miri.
