A play depicting the homicide, displacement and persecution the Palestinian people suffer at the hands of Israeli troops is to open Saturday in Damascus.
The Syrian play entitled Ila Zawal (Coming to an End) is scripted by Sulaiman al Hajj and based on a French text.
The profit would go to the Intifada Support Committee.
Officials at the Syrian ministry of culture told Kuwaiti News Agency (KUNA) that the play demonstrates Palestinians’ strife against Israel that strives to compensate for its failure through monstrous oppression of defenseless Palestinians. It clearly shows military action is not the answer and can not last much longer as it defies both right and reason.
They added that other plays are also playing in Damascus to raise funds to support Palestine – Albawaba.com
