After 13 years of wearing the Hijab (Islamic headdress) and announcing her resignation, Egyptian actress Suhair Ramzi returns to the acting world to take part in a new TV drama series “Sayed Al Bulbul”. Suhair had held endless negotiations with the producers that lasted for weeks insisting that she will not appear on the screen unless the role she plays represents the ideals of Islam and how a good Muslim woman should act.

According to the London based daily, Al Hayat, Suhair had demanded a number of alterations to the script of the historical series in order for her to accept the role. She also insisted that the music for the historical drama should be composed by prominent Iraqi singer Kathem El Saher. Suhair stressed that if her role in any way presented her as an ill-mannered lady, she would not accept it, but since it teaches other women how they should behave according to the teachings of Islam, she felt it is very appropriate for her to play after the long years of her resignation.

The actress has strongly denied rumors that she intends on returning to the big screen, saying the possibility is not even questionable. Suhair noted that the only way she would return to the big screen would be to star in a historical and religious film, a matter she doubts ever happening.

Suhair, who will receive 1 million Egyptian pounds for her role in the film, had announced her resignation in the year 1990, and ever since had refused every single offer she had received to star in films or TV series. The actress had even refused to take part in any interviews for all media types. –Albawaba.com
