With its inevitable success, the Korean drama series Squid Game is officially getting a second season.
The show which was release in 2021 tells the story of a contest where players are in deep financial debt play a series of children games, however, if they lose, they die. The prize of the contest is ₩45.6 billion.
The South Korean Netflix thriller has proved spectacularly popular over the past month, hitting 111 million views in 28 days.
And recently, the genius creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has now revealed that there will "indeed" be a second season, Dong-hyuk added that the new season is currently in the planning stages.

Hwang said "there's been so much pressure, so much demand and so much love for a second season. So I almost feel like you leave us no choice! But I will say there will indeed be a second season. It's in my head right now."
"But I do think it's too early to say when and how that's going to happen. So I will promise you this... Gi-Hun will come back, and he will do something for the world."
The creator previously revealed that creating the first season was a draining process, recalling: "It was physically, mentally and emotionally draining. I kept having new ideas and revising the episodes as we were filming so the amount of work multiplied."
Netflix is yet to comment on the announcement.
