A slap makes Wafa Amer famous

Egyptian actress Wafa Amer became very famous and the talk of the town after being slapped on the face by her colleague Hisham Abdul Hamid in front of a live audience while performing a play. 

 

The incident happened when Wafa and Hisham were performing their play “Jawaz ala wraket Talak” (Marriage on a Divorce Paper) and the play was a success but to everyone’s surprise during one of the final scenes Hisham slapped Wafa on the face and things got worse leading Wafa' to file a lawsuit against her colleague. 

 

According to the Qatar based daily, Al Raya, Wafa revealed that problems started from the first day the play began, and actress Aida Abdul Aziz tried to curb the dispute but things went from bad to worse. Wafa added, "the night we were recording for TV in front of a live audience Hisham deliberately tried to be the center of attention and interfered in the dialogue. He was very violent and pushed me several times in front of the audience the thing that embarrassed me in front of my fans." 

 

Wafa filed charges against the actor for his uncalled for attitude and stressed that Hisham purposely knocked her to the ground by stepping on the tip of her dress and then managed to keep her voice from being heard by people while she was calling for help. 

 

"The play is over despite the great success because of that incident. I wont perform with Hisham anymore even if they paid me a million EGP per minute" wafa stressed. 

 

Wafa said that her real start was with actor Mohammed Subhi who asked her to participate in his drama “Fares Bila Jawad” and she is proud to act with a great actor from which she learned a lot. 

 

With regards to her relationship with Amer Khaled, Wafa said that she never met him but she only sees him on TV, adding that her relationship with God is something personal. 

 

Regarding future seductive roles, Wafa added that she would not reject a good seductive role if it were to add value to her acting career. "These kinds of people exist in society and someone has to do these parts, if I see that there is something important that needs to be said through these role, I have no problem doing them again."
