Egyptian singer Shireen Wajdi has announced that she does not intend on entering the acting world in the meantime unless she is offered a very attractive role that adds a great deal to her career. The singer revealed that she took part in different works in the acting world in the past, but she had not been offered any good roles recently.

According to the UAE based daily, Al Bayan, Shireen stressed that she is concentrating on her singing career at the moment and does not want to diverge her efforts elsewhere. The singer is currently working on a new music video for the song “Lama Shafouni” (When They Saw Me), which is sung in the Lebanese accent, under the direction of Mirna Khayat.

On another note, Wajdi has denied rumors that she insulted Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram publicly. At a press conference in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Tunisia, Wajdi denied the rumors, which accused her of insulting Ajram in a magazine who quoted her as saying that she does not think Ajram is a good singer.

Shireen explained that her comments were twisted by the interviewer, which in turn created the misunderstanding. Wajdi had told the magazine that she felt the true singers of the Arab world are the older generation, however the new generation is also adding a lot to the Arab music industry. Shireen had even made a personal phone call to Nancy explaining the misunderstanding and made sure that there were no hard feelings between the two.
