The husband of Egyptian singer Shireen Wajdi is under investigation by Egyptian authorities, and both she and her husband have been forbidden to leave Egypt and the couple’s assets have been seized by authorities, including those of Shireen.
Her husband, Ehab Tal’at, owns one of the largest advertising agencies in Egypt and is the producer of the popular program “Al Bait Baitak” (Our Home is Your Home). The Egyptian television network has filed charges against him.
When the situation became clear, Ehab and Shireen attempted to leave Egypt on their private chartered jet, but Egyptian police stopped them and seized their assets.
Shireen has been offered the leading role in a new film, but has yet to give her final decision.
Previously Shireen announced that she did not intend on entering the acting world unless she is offered a very attractive role. The singer stated that she has acting experience, but she is concentrating on her singing career and does not want to invest her efforts elsewhere.
