Egyptian actress Shireen Seif Nasr has refused to make amends with belly dancer Fifi Abdo and will not drop the charges against her.
Shireen asserted that she will not forgive Fifi for badmouthing her on live television and embarrassing her.
Shireen filed a lawsuit against Fifi, after the latter publicly insulted her on the Lebanese Broadcasting Company LBC program “Li Man Yajro’ Fakat” (For those who dare only). Fifi stated that Shireen was a “gold digger” and wanted to reunite with her ex-husband Egyptian singer/actor Midhat Saleh, only to take his money.
Shireen said that she was shocked by Fifi’s accusations, although it is not the first time the dancer publicly insulted her. Also, she questioned why Fifi insists on making false and hurtful statements.
Shireen said she will not respond to Fifi’s inappropriate remarks, and will leave the matter for the court to decide.
On a different note, Shireen has established a new production company, ‘Shairi Film,’ returning to a popular trend in the 1960’s when actresses often established their own production companies.
Shireen’s mother and business manager, Laila, revealed that her daughter took this step in order to produce new films and television dramas to mark her return to acting after a four year absence, according to the London based Elaph. Laila stressed that the company is not solely for Shireen, but for all actors.
